Background
Community Educational Centers (CEC) established by Family Resource Centers, an organization which has been providing child care and parenting services since 1977.

Because the needs of families vary in relation to young children and care responsibilities, CEC offers a total child care service by providing care for young children and school age children, after school and summer programs for older children.

CEC also provides parent education and family support programs.

We believe that parents are the most influential teachers of their young children, and it is a community responsibility to strengthen and support the family in its role as the child's primary educator.

Community Educational Centers, Inc. is committed to drawing together the family, the schools, the medical profession and the business community into a relationship of shared responsibility for the development of young children.

Facilities
CEC is located at Cold Spring Center on Cold Spring Creamery Rd. in Buckingham, PA. The building is a one level structure surrounded by trees, outdoor playgrounds, and swimming facilities. Classrooms and homerooms are arranged to provide warm nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Classrooms are available for Kindergarten, after school programs, and for the needs of a growing family.

Staff
CEC has a staff to child ratio of 1:3 for children under twelve months, 1:4 for children between twelve and eighteen months, 1:5 for children eighteen months to two years old, 1:6 for children two to three years old, and 1:10 for children three to five years old; this meets all district and federal regulations.

CEC employs an integrated staff, an experienced Director trained in Early Childhood and Infant/Toddler Education, plus other professionals, paraprofessionals, and aides.
