Program

Program
CEC offers a developmental program for children 3 months to 5 years old. The program is specifically designed to help develop the total child; physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is geared toward the individual child, taking into consideration each child’s family life and developmental level. Children are introduced to an educationally prepared environment, which offers practical and cognitive challenges to their mental and physical development. Teachers and caregivers provide lots of love and personal guidance. Each child is allowed to progress at his or her own rate. Children at the kindergarten level, in addition to the basic program, are provided with a full academic program encompassing a curriculum program equivalent to or above that found in any setting in the Bucks County area. Children at this level are prepared for first grade, or beyond depending on the child’s readiness.

The program at CEC provides for periods of activity, rest, individual, and group work. Outdoor play takes place daily, weather permitting. Field trips to educational and cultural areas in the community are also included in the program.

Additional Programs
In addition to the basic school year CEC offers:

Music, Movement, and Art - An extension of the regular classroom activities, creative movement and art classes are offered to all children.

Educational Videos - Videos from the local library, colleges, and the CEC educational library are shown.

Summer Programs - The summer program includes swim lessons for older children, outdoor recreational activities, arts and crafts, nature programs, and field trips.

Parent Involvement
Parent involvement and wide use of community resources are vital aspects of CEC. Close personal attention is given to each family. Individual conferences and parent meetings are a part of the planned program. Parents participate in fundraising activities, help with field trips, participate in the classrooms, and attend parenting classes.
