Doylestown center shows off solar panel array
The students and families at the Community Educational Centers in Doylestown just got another reason to shine brighter thanks to a new 21.85 kW solar array installed by Suntricity Power. The array went live in March and will generate 29,751 kW hours over the next 12 months alone. The new Suntricity Power array is a green engineering feat. It is comprised of 95 Mage 230-watt modules, each with their own micro-inverter to safely covert the high voltage DC power to AC electricity. These components are working to eliminate 41 percent of the electric bills for the school each year. “Our mission of child care and parent support means that we want to raise the next generation in a healthy environment,” center owner Jeffra Nandan said. “We hope that children can understand and respect the resources around them so that future generations can have them to enjoy. Solar helps us do our part to preserve the environment. ”Over the next 25 years, the system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 510 tons—about the weight of 110 elephants. The array is also expected to last decades as a secure investment for the school.
