Pre-K 2

Our Pre-K 2 room cares for children from 4 years to 5 years. The staff/child ratio is 1:10.

The Pre-K 2 curriculum includes language arts, math, science, social studies, music, computer/technology, and more. Our children are prepared to enter Kindergarten as successful learners.

Language Arts
Language Arts in Pre-Kindergarten is to improve language development through oral language and communication skills. In addition: building vocabulary and ways to link words into sentences, express and relate new ideas to understand and analyze the world, and develop reading readiness and handwriting without tears through a print rich environment.

Math
Math is built on the child’s natural curiosity; to touch, examine, and manipulate objects in their environment. Children work independently and in small groups to recognize similarities and differences, classify objects and shapes, recognize and create patterns, create sequences of objects, make comparisons, count, and demonstrate an understanding of amounts.

Science
Science in Pre-Kindergarten is a concrete approach to learning the fundamental concepts of science. Through observation and hands on investigation the children learn about both the living and physical world. Social Studies Social Studies focuses on the awareness of the child as an individual, as a member if a family unit, and as a member of their community through a variety of hands on experiences using books, puzzles, games, music, and art. Music Music focuses on listening, enjoying, developing an appreciation of music in all its forms, identifying sounds, rhythm sequences, dance, and singing songs.
