School Year
CEC's school year programs include Infants, Pre-Toddlers, Toddlers, Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten 1, Pre-Kindergarten 2, Kindergarten, and After-School classrooms.
Our curriculum is engaging, active, challenging, developmentally appropriate, responsive to cultural differences, and promotes positive individual learning for all our children. Teachers plan meaningful experiences to engage children’s minds and bodies in learning experiences throughout the day in interest areas, small and large group times, daily routines, and long-term studies.
Our goals and objectives of our creative curriculum are organized into nine developmental areas: social/emotional, physical, cognitive, language, math, science, social studies, arts, and technology. Our creative curriculum for preschool is developmentally and culturally relevant for 3 to 5 year old children, including those with special needs. It is grounded in the child development theory and research of Vygotsky, Gardner, Maslow, Erikson, Piaget, and Smilansky, as well as research on brain development and resiliency.
